Athletics

Summary of Atheletics, day 1: rained period 1 and 2, all events compressed into rest of the day. Did not do well in 100/200m (so much for sub-30sec), next is did-not-do triple jump, after which came shotput, which was good! As in, I actually managed to qualify, but I came about 7th after the second shot, missing out on another chance by a few centimetres. Both my shots went a bit straight instead of the 45° suggested by a certain physics teacher. The rest is not worth mentioning, because a certain GZ dominated the rest.

So, 1500m is on tomorrow, 8:00am bottom oval. Come if you want, I'm entering and I will try and get under 7 minutes at least, although there are no guarantees (that's your cue to come along and watch to add pressure!)

Then there's the discus, hurdles and high jump (did I skip something), not necessarily in that order for me. Gotta learn how to jump high and high jump at the same time... hurdles requires a special technique, so does discus. 'Sif I'm gonna do high jump seriously o.O

Was reading the Aeneid and I took half a whole history lesson figuring what book (there are twelve of them) I was up to, then finding the line (each has about 900).

Does anyone want to do City2Surf with me? Entries open this weekend and it costs $35 or $30 if you do it early. Remember blue start group if possible. (It's held on the first Sunday of August i.e. the 8th, and it's not that hard, seriously)

  1. Not hard? *cough*

At my rate, it would take me ... 3 hours +.

  2. Careful JM, the course is 14km which includes Heartbreak Hill, although at that speed it wouldn't matter.

    14/3= 4.7km/h

That's walking pace. They start reopening the road sometime past midday you know.
