My Apologies

This time, to my English teacher who will undoubtedly receive my essay (if I make one) today or tomorrow, increasing stress of marking a sudden intake of half-assed essays D:

I've noticed that although I may speak to/comment on blogs etc. I hardly speak to them in rl, which is slightly worrying although I can logically and reasonably explain it (to myself). I believe the main cause of that is that it is OVER 9000 (srs) times more convenient to do this thanks to connectivity etc. in general, but also because many find it easier (esp. if it happens to be an intimidating Schwarzenegger-esque character)

I must attain a ATAR of >96.2 or else :O otherwise Usyd will be virtually impossible, esp. considering the high cut-offs for B Arts/Science (psych) and the advanced/honours courses (not to mention costs)

Time to conquer the Scottish (play), William Wallace style.

I'm in several damn quandaries now, how do I handle this situation? What themes, motifs and techniques are used in Macbeth (relevant to a contemporary audience)? How long do cut flowers take to show signs of lost vitality?

Happy 30th post?

  1. How does it appeal to contemporary audience? I have no idea but here's a list that won't help.

    - Themes of what it is to be a man, qualities associated with man. I mean, we're all human and this issue is quite.. universal. Contemporary audiences' attitudes are much different to Shakespearean gender roles.. And that may intrigue people. Yus.

    - The whole play is centred around the spiralling descent of Macbeth, and Macbeth is the .. "protagonist" or the main character of this play. As it is a tragedy, the audience kinda locks with Macbeth and we sympathise with Macbeth but realise that his descent is inevitable.

And there's a whole lot of things you can talk about ambition (and how it relates to contemporary society + gaining power), it could give an insight to Shakespearean beliefs about witchcraft... etc.
